A 15-year-old girl from Philadelphia has been missing since July 1, 2026, and authorities are asking the public for help locating her.
Jaidalyn Rivera was last seen on foot near A and Somerset streets, and investigators believe her disappearance is tied to a custody dispute that played out in family court.
What Led to Her Disappearance
According to information shared by Missing People In America, Jaidalyn ran away after a family member reportedly told her she did not have to listen to her mother and that she was old enough to make her own decisions. That message is believed to have influenced her choice to leave.
She was last seen in the vicinity of family court in the company of a woman identified as Elia Gomez and Gomez’s adult daughter. Because of the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, family and investigators have expressed concern for her safety.
Jaidalyn is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 160 pounds, with brown hair that has been dyed red and blue eyes. At the time she was last seen, she was wearing grey tights, a black T-shirt, and black Crocs.
How the Public Can Help
Philadelphia Police Department’s East Detectives are leading the investigation and are urging anyone with information about Jaidalyn’s whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be submitted by calling 215 686 3240. The case has been assigned the number 26 24 056944.
Missing People In America, which describes itself as maintaining the nation’s largest interactive missing person database, has added Jaidalyn’s case to its records and is helping circulate her information online.
The organization says it verifies cases before posting them publicly to ensure accuracy and to support law enforcement efforts to reunite missing individuals with their families.
Cases involving custody conflicts can be especially difficult for investigators, since a missing minor may not consider themselves to be in danger and may be reluctant to reach out for help. Family members are hopeful that increased visibility will lead someone who has seen Jaidalyn to contact police.
Anyone who may have encountered a teenager matching her description in the Philadelphia area, particularly near the A and Somerset streets corridor, is encouraged to reach out to detectives right away. Even small details can assist investigators piecing together her movements since she was last seen.
Community members following the case can find updates through Missing People In America’s online postings and database listing under her name.
