A 25-year-old Wauwatosa man who went missing last week has been found dead, according to police.
Bryan Adorno Sanchez was reported missing on Saturday, August 15, after his fiancée said she had not heard from him since Friday night.
Wauwatosa police confirmed Monday evening that he had been found deceased. Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances of his death or the exact location where he was found.
How the search unfolded
Police discovered Adorno Sanchez’s white 2026 Toyota Corolla unoccupied Saturday night in the 10200 block of Underwood Parkway. Officers used a K9 unit and a drone to search the surrounding area but were unable to locate him.
A second search followed on Sunday, and by Monday evening the effort had grown into a community-wide search at Wil O Way Underwood Park, where dozens of volunteers joined the effort.
Adorno Sanchez’s fiancée, Maggie French, told local reporters she came home Friday to find a note along with his passport, ID, and other personal belongings, but his car was gone.
She said the note told loved ones not to feel guilty and included instructions about his phone and finances.
French said Adorno Sanchez served in the Army and had been open about struggling with anxiety and depression, adding that a difficult family trip to Minnesota earlier this year had been a turning point that led him to start therapy and lean on friends for support.
A family and a community in mourning
French said she and Adorno Sanchez had been together for more than five years and share a three-year-old daughter.
She described him as her best friend in the hours before his body was found, and said she was overwhelmed by the number of people who showed up to help search for him.
Wauwatosa police thanked everyone who took part in the search effort once the outcome was confirmed Monday night, extending condolences to Adorno Sanchez’s family and loved ones.
Police described him as 5 feet 10 inches and about 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He worked as a realtor in Milwaukee.
No cause of death has been released, and police say no further information will be shared at this time. The department has not indicated whether an investigation is ongoing or whether foul play is suspected.
