Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police are asking for the public’s help in locating an 18-year-old woman who has not been seen since last week.

Lesly Yanira Galdamez Morales was last seen on Friday, August 21, 2026, at approximately 4 a.m. in the 3200 block of Toledo Place in Hyattsville. She has not been heard from since, and investigators with the 3rd District Investigative Section are now working to determine what happened to her and where she may have gone.

Morales is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. Police have not released details about what she was wearing when she was last seen or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Community Rallies to Spread Awareness

News of her disappearance has spread quickly online, with local missing persons groups sharing her photo and case details across social media in hopes of generating leads.

Pages such as Missing People In America have added her information to a national database used to track active missing persons cases, and hashtags including FindLeslyMorales have circulated widely as friends, family, and concerned residents push for answers.

Community members in the Hyattsville and greater Montgomery County area are being urged to remain alert and to report any information, no matter how small it may seem, to investigators.

How to Help

Anyone with information about Morales’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department’s non-emergency line at 301 279 8000, which operates 24 hours a day. Those with urgent or time-sensitive information are encouraged to call 911 instead.

Cases like this often depend heavily on tips from the public, especially in the early days after someone goes missing. Investigators say even minor details, such as a sighting near the last known location or contact from the missing person afterward, can help move a case forward.

As of this week, Morales remains missing, and the investigation is ongoing. Police have not indicated whether they consider her disappearance suspicious, but they continue to treat the case as an active priority.

Family members and advocates have expressed hope that continued public attention will help bring her home safely, and they are asking anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to come forward as soon as possible.
